# Control what shop-floor feedback can change

> Understand execution ownership and the separate permissions for Odoo time entries, operation completion, manufacturing completion and stock booking.

The Odoo UNS Connector separates shop-floor observations from changes to Odoo production and stock. Your administrator configures the allowed source and effect for each workflow.

## Start with the execution owner

**UNS Execution Owner** identifies the system allowed to report an operation's progress. The default owner is Odoo; external operation feedback is rejected until ownership is configured for that source.

## Enable only the required effects

| Capability | Required configuration |
| - | - |
| Record authorized operation observations | Correct execution owner for the work order. |
| Create Odoo time entries | A configured productive **UNS native time category**. |
| Complete an operation in Odoo | **Authorize native operation completion**. |
| Complete a manufacturing order in Odoo | Both operation and manufacturing completion permissions. Completion follows the last open operation. |
| Book external lot stock in Odoo | **Authorize native stock booking**, with approved source and lot mappings. |

Here, **native** means the action changes Odoo's own business records, rather than only recording an external observation.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Automatic completion supports the full planned quantity. Partial or scrap completion is not supported by this path. Odoo warnings, required lot information and backorders can prevent completion.

## Stock and material consumption

**Observed external stock** remains separate from **Native lot stock**. Observations alone do not change Odoo inventory.

Actual-lot material consumption in production needs an additional component and explicit authority for the affected material. It is not included merely by enabling stock observations.

**Publish received lots to UNS** is a per-product opt-in. An incoming-receipt destination must also be configured. The exchange covers validated vendor receipt lines. Once published, those receipt lines cannot be edited, deleted or returned through this path. Corrections and returns require the separately agreed process.

These settings affect production records. Their scope should match the agreed process and the installed components. See [daily workflow](https://docs.sheetmetalconnect.com/odoo-uns/workflow.md) for the visible results and [troubleshooting](https://docs.sheetmetalconnect.com/odoo-uns/troubleshooting.md) for rejected feedback.
